This is a loose quote from Snapperheads explanation about how to make your Ceph substrate, enjoy the candid unedited PM... This will be the soil mix i'll use for my upcoming cephalotaventure.

Looking good Nolan... but Cephalotus in my experience really aren't too picky with their media. I know John is trying to replicate the mix in nature and my latest plants are practically potted in a similar mix... peat, sand, perlite orchid bark. But I never cared about media consistency.... just mixed it up. Sand is hard to mix as it is heavier and tends to go to the bottom of the mixed media. So need to dig deep in the container to get sand from the bottom to mix properly with the peat mix.

When i repot / do leaf pullings or w/e ill def add small bark to mix . think my mix was like 1 part perlite 2 peat moss ..maybe more like 1.5 parts perlite lol. Not quite 1 part peat 1 part perlite

...congrats, I think you've probably got some pretty good seeds there, but that was the easy part, now you gotta get them to pop. None of my Cephalotus seeds popped for me so I wish you all the best with yours! Cheers. (PS, but my divisions are flourishing!)

Hoping for the best prepared for the worst If they fudge I try again :-D That's how I do it. Sometimes I have stunning success with near 100% germination Sometimes I wonder what the heck happened. Next time he has seeds I'm probably going to try as well if I can get some. Good luck he's definitely legit and his plants are great.
