Yup! My tank tops (lol) were open as well, but the heat still bottles up inside the tank and then fills the chamber completely quickly making an uncomfortable environment for the plants. You still need fans to vent the heat away. Ideal thing is to do what I did (in my humble opinion), Have a humidifier/fresh cold air output at the bottom...plant level...let it push the air up. You will get a vortex effect of circulating air inside, but it will never get too hot. Also, helps with nightly drops as some of the light heat helps raise the day/night temperature differential.

That's exactly what I was thinking for the most part on the HL setup. I will test it for a week or so before I call it good and put the plants in. I will have to play with it a bit until I'm satisfied with how it's running. Probably be a couple weeks or so before I get it done. I got to many other things to tend to over the next few weeks probably going to aclimate them down as well. There's not a lot of point in making a nice enclosure and staring at condensation all day. I'll keep ya posted.

Thanks everyone
Still having a hard time getting the humidity to stabilize without constant moisture on the leaves of the plants.
I'll figure it out eventually

Great job mate. An evaporative cooler may help?

Very simple, inexpensive and seems a decent way to keep humidity up and temps down. You could probably use the same reservoir for both evaporation and watering.
