Thanks for that Varun. I'm concerned about the height to which some the Helis may grow, especially if they flower. I'm reckoning 2" (max) of substrate (moss + grate, maybe some peat) + 6" for the pot. With a 24" tank there's plenty of room for the pitchers but the flower stalks could be cramped. sorry greg,...i missed replying to you.. I agree.... these tanks aren't good for helis. If you want a heli setup, check out Av8tor1's setup on Terraforums. Its easier to maintain and with the direct steam of humidifier output and 6xT5HO bulbs, you can grow some fantastic helis with that. But remember, again, at any height more than 1-2', you will be having issue with lights...you need a lot more lights to get the same color as a light at 18"...like how I do.

Thanks guys. Took a while to get to this point.....iteration over iteration....something else to add. The goal is to reach a quality akin to an ADA aquarium system. Hard though, as that requires heavy pruning and management, and I prefer a very wild/lush/un=controlled look.
Not to mention... what is not clear in these pics is the number of orchids I have KILLED. Many of them are intermediate (Although intermediate growers are similar to our highlanders in terms of condition requirements). But, they are way more pickier than our plants... very easy to rot their roots out. Some don't grow but flower.. wasted many hundreds of $ on them.

Almost wished you'd missed my original message mate. I've spent over 2 hours trolling the good professor's posts on TF and found tons of valuable information - including every question I had about using Peltiers answered! Still have not found a pic/post/thread about his setup. Do you remember in what year it was? No worries if you don't, I'll find it eventually - might be 10 minutes, might be 5 hours - and I'll probably learn a ton of valuable stuffs along the way...

ROFL!!! Just went back to the 2 links from my last search and found it, 1st hit. I was about to edit my op - 13 minutes man! Following some of the threads I've retrieved has been a great intermediate/advanced education in CP care. I've seen Maiden mentioned more than a few times.

I really like the N. lowii. Where did you get that N. macrophylla? It's a very nice looking plant. The villosa is a nice size too! Good growing.
