Has anyone grown this plant?
I am re-reading Barry Rice's book and the chapter on them piqued my interest, especially the photo of a field of Brocchinia poking up through the grass like long, green cannoli shells. Can you grow them from seeds and are seeds available anywhere? I see Wistuba has them for 20 Euro.

I had one for a couple months before I traded it away and it seemed easy enough, didn't ever crap out me to it can't be that hard. I think long term intermediate temps help, I don't think you'll have any problem with it.

I was growing one for a few years. I later couldn't fit it in with everything else in my new smaller and tank and I had to remove it during some renovations. I forgot and left it outside and it dried out. It grew fantastically and prolifically while mounted with bare roots without any media in my conditions. But most grow it in a pot with light media. I was pretty happy with how it did. It grew nice and straight like a hollow tube for the most part.

With your growing skills varun, im pretty sure you can make thrive a b.reducta again.
Also, as i can see on your picture, your reducta is very compact and erected.. Thats mean the plant get enough light. Only a few growers can grow that specie like that.

haha...thanks for the high praise Francois. It is a pretty simple plant. I think any amount of light that can successfully provide full sized nectar spoons for heliamphora is enough to give such growth form to the B. reducta. I think this particular plant was the montreal botanical garden strain?...I got it from a local grower here on OCPS a long while ago.
