this is a new division of a Ping Today I had it outside in the shade and after a hour a insect inspected each leaf but did not stick I can see the tiny hairs under the right light there is no dew on it at all! Also some leaves are getting red on the edges and tips of some leaves what do I need to do to correct this? after the insect escaped I ground up a bloodworm with water and placed it on the leaf cutting and 1 of the plant leaves then put it back in a tray of water under light.

Aphrodite is supposed to have red leaves. It produces dew when happy and not being messed with constantly.

My Ping Aphrodite is full of surprises I just clipped a flower stem that had no flower and a few dead leaves they are sending up new leaves like crazy! the mother plant is even sending up another flower! still no dew but I am guessing as long as it is making new leaves it won't dew up, I like seeing new leaves or a flower but if it needs to stop with new leaves to dew then I want it to stop so I can see the bugger in action

My Ping Aphrodite is sending up flowers it also is sending up new leaves fast do they need to send out all the leaves before it makes the sticky goo on the leaves?

Sounds healthy if it's flowering and making new leaves. It will make dew when it feels like it. In my experience Aphrodite isn't really dewy. Its parents aren't either, especially P. moctezumae. Some of the big moranensis ooze slime if that's what you're after.

I think it's best just to appreciate the plant for how it is. I'm not a Ping expert, but I do have about a dozen kinds of pings and even the "dewey ones" aren't that exciting. You can see little droplets on the leaves, but I think most bugs would have an easy time escaping unless they were gnats or midges. I have mine under a humidity dome so they only get ground up bloodworms anyways.
I know you are used to VFTs and as far as CPs go, they are probably the most active in catching their prey. Sundews tend to curl their leaves around their prey, some faster than others, but pings pretty much just sit there and look pretty.
It's a really good sign yours are flowering, but dew can depend on a lot of factors, and humidity would be my first thought.

Mine has no slime and bugs do not get trapped Can it still eat without slime? I cut a DBW in half mixed with equal amount of pure water and put a drop of this soup on a leave and it absorbed the water so I am thinking it got nutrients from the DBW as well I hope so cause its like a bad weed shooting up new leaves and even dropped a flower and has another ready to bloom!

I just re potted my Ping Aphrodite in a deeper wide mouth pot because in the old pot I noticed even though it was growing new leaves the leaves would reach the pot the dry up and die from lack of room it is still sending out leaves but I was wondering if the crowded leaves die from lack of room will the new leaves drape over the top of the pot like I seen in some magazine pics? I never measured but I think the new pot is 7 inches deep and around the same at the top

That's a plus-sized ping pot. I keep almost all of mine in 2-1/2" pots. I've never seen an Aphrodite get anywhere near 7". Pings have very small and shallow root systems. A big pot isn't necessary.

The old pot was 4.5 inches deep and the leaves always reached the pot and died becuse the leaves had nowhere to go,hence a pot to get more room !

The old leaves on pings die back naturally. About once a year I lift the plant, pull off the mass of dead leaves underneath, top up and refresh the soil and replant.

Ok now I know better as soon as I get another decent sized pot back it goes! I noticed the root system its really small,I had one dead leaf under the soils dead so I just snipped it off.
