Has anyone used Captan fungicide on there CP's ? I bought some online after reading in another forum that it was good for nepenthes to remove those rust spots and good for damp off etc.
What are your thoughts ?

Captan, Benomyl are both pretty useless in my opinion. I've still got small bottles of each of this stuff ...left over from years gone by. Everytime I notice a plant with rot or something setting in, I'd apply a dusting of either of both this stuff... but the plant would eventually sucumb to rot. So should you see rot, or spotting in your nep/sarr/vft, I'd take a clean sharp knife - dip it in a weak solution of bleach and water and cut off all the rot and a bit more and dust it with a rooting hormone (usually contains a bit of fungicide along with the talc and gibberellin or IA-3).
As for preventing damp off. I still use it as a small guarantee on my seedlings. Small liquid bottles are sold and I mix it into my sprayers with water...so everytime I mist my seedlings, it gets a dose of no damp. Smells kind of musky, but it seems to stop seedling rot. Ideally, your seedlings should not be in too high a humid place, and with good air circulation to nix fungal attacks (like damping off). I've heard rumours in the past that most fungicides retard CP seedling growth, but I've never personally experienced it.

I never found it much use and it sure stinks. I don't like using it in the house as I'm not sure of the toxicity.
