Very nice. The nectar spoon on the neblinae looks evil.

Thanks guys! Hal, the spoon is the exact reason I bought this plant. Each new pitcher the spoon gets more and more evil Brad, I grow in a square 6.5' grow tent. These are grown under 6x HOT5's about 8-12" under the lights. Cooling is acheived by cool air ducted from outside that is then met with cool mist from a humidifier blown directly over the plants and lights (without this I'd have plant jerky on my hands ). Temperatures have been a little higher than I like around 80-82F days and 60F nights. Once it cools down a bit outside temperatures will be closer to 75F days and 55-50F nights. Humidity always greater than 70%. Martin, the first flower to open didnt look ready yesterday to relase pollen, but should be tonight. Ill update when I have news

Very nice Drew! I love Heliamphora, but I hear they're really difficult to keep.

Thanks Teddscau and dvg! Once you find what they like, Heli's are no harder than other CP in my experience. It took me over a year and one nearly dead H. minor to figure it out. As soon as I increased the light I was giving them, they took off. So I was able to collect pollen today after cutting off the antlers yesterday and letting them dry over night. With av8ator1's nice write up I was able to identify all the correct parts of the flower. I tried buzzing without removing the antlers first yesterday, but couldn't tell if I was getting pollen or not. Thats when I decided to remove the antlers and follow Mike Wilder's technique. Worked like a charm! I realized though that a small mirror would be much easier than tin foil like I used, so will be stopping by a drug store tomorrow and picking up that, as well as nice small nail scissors and better tweezers. I have pollinated a recently opened H. minor flower with the pollen I collected from the same plant but different flower and stalk. I might have been a little too late with pollinating, but worth a shot. The next flowers that open I will be able to pollinate right away, which should be better timing. Hoping to make species seed of minor and heterodoxa, and some hybrids with minor, heterodoxa and nutans depending on how many flowers I get in the end.

haha thanks maiden Here is some freshly collected Heliamphora pollen and anters removed about 36hours ago, then chopped in half and buzzed to remove the pollen. They're actually quite yellow, but the lighting in the bathroom is terrible.
