I searched our provincial library system for the Seeds book that Lloyd made reference to earlier in this thread, but came up empty with finding it.
I didn't check out any university libraries, so it may have been available at one of them.
So I ended up buying it and have to agree with Lloyd that the book does deal with an incredible number of strategies for overcoming seed dormancy.
Chapter 11, in particular, covers CPs, parasitic plants, orchids, aquatics and others.
Though it does mention a few CPs, and spends even more time with the parasitic plants (which are very interesting btw), one book can simply not cover each and every plant that's out there.
But it does make the grower aware that the germination of some seeds can be a tricky business.
I'd recommend it to anyone that likes to grow difficult plants from seed and would appreciate some new tools for overcoming the dormancies of stubborn seeds.

TTC (TTZ)- a dye to determine if a seed is alive
Thiourea-a germination stimulator for difficult seeds.
I just bought some of both. If anybody is interested in trying some, pm me.

2 new interesting plant books: 'Australian Succulent Plants' and "Eucalypts, a Celebration". Both recommended if you like plant books (and why would you be looking at this if you aren't?).
