with orchid seeds i tried to pollinate a flower and it did and made seeds until my cat ate it and after then i had a question always in my mind since the seeds never ripened, my question to myself was how do you know when the seed pod is ripe does it dry up and go dark brown like Drosera. I just want to know because I was thinking of trying to make seed and sell or sow them.

Orchid seedlings are obligate myco-heterotrophic (parasites on funghi). So practically speaking you need to TC them. If you look on the Phytotech website there's an article on orchid seed growing. It's best to use the pods when they are green and there's a listing of how long each orchid pod needs to ripen before the seeds are viable. You can wait until the seeds are dry and the pod splits but it's trickier to sterilize them.
