Every plant in the world flowers and produces seed at some point in their life. In cultivation they do flower but I'm not sure if they are self fertile. Theres no real point in starting them from seed because they take so easily from cuttings.

they do set seed because I've seen them offered as seeds in catalogues. as H2O suggested, there really isn't a point because it's easier to start from cuttings. the added advantage is you know exactly how the plant is going to look. with seed, you have no idea how the patterning will be.

Actually some plants don't set viable seed or any seed. I can't think of any references for the moment but some angiosperm plant varieties don't flower or produce seeds/viable seeds and only reproduce vegetatively.

Ferns don't produce flower or seeds, only spores.

I think we're talking about more advanced plants-angiosperms.
