The Malaysian Nepenthes: Evolutionary and Taxonomic Perspectives
Just read this book. I got it from the U of T library. It's very expensive. Good for a specialized library.
It had a very interesting introduction to the evolution of CP's. I think I finally understand the relationships of the various groups of CP's.
Mostly a listing of the taxonomy of the Malaysian Neps. Also of horticultural significance is that Malaysian nep species each have their favoured soil and it would likely be a good idea to match the species to the expected soil type.
Lowland: "coastal heath forests, grassy peat swamps, disturbed areas such as road escarpments"*
Highland: " ultramafic, limestone, shady peat swamps, shady tropical rainforest"*
*Excerpts from paged 55
