It's going to be 3 cool nights in Toronto 0, 0, 1C. Anybody think it's time to winterize? I'm betting they'll be Ok for a few weeks more before they retire to the garage.

That's not too bad Lloyd...we're going to get down to -8C or so tonight and tomorrow will only get up to a high of -3C or -4C.
But if we continue to get through to Sunday without any snow falling on us, we will set a new local record in the Edmonton area for going the longest amount of time into the fall without seeing any of the white stuff.

I would wait a while longer with those temps.
Granted its warmer here in Niagara but I wont be mulching for close to a month I would think. I used to be paranoid about covering up before the cold hit but after talk to Jay about mulching I'm convinced to wait.
Plus the Leuc's and alata's are still pitchering haha

My plants seem to be doing OK in the cool weather. Some are getting nice colours and the leucophylla, Judith Hindle, purps and other hybrids are putting out new growth. I'll probably leave them for a few more weeks.

I was planning to take my plants in today as there will be lows below zero for the next 5 days. I had to drain off the water from the torrential rain all yesterday and then brush off all the snow from today.

I put all my pots in the garage last weekend. I could swear the Dixie Lace and leucs were still making new pitchers.

It's so warm in Toronto, it's ridiculous. I took my microbogs out in front of the garage for the last few days to get some rain and fresh air. If it stays this warm, I'll take them up to the deck. I didn't cover the pots this year-just left them in the garage-no mould buidup.

Ya it's super warm down here too!
I un-mulched my bog last week and everything looks great, the Venus flytraps actually grew over the winter and the Drosera binata group all survived, I probably won't have to remulch but kept the needles just in case.

Yeah, I'm thinking of putting mine out. Worried about the S. minor, though.

I can see one of my sarr pitchers poking up through the leaves. It looks alive. This is my first winter for them outside, so hopefully they survived, along with my dews.

After a stupidly hot March, we've had a colder than usual April. The next 3 days will be just below freezing. I hope the sarr flower buds will be Ok. At least the cold weather may encourage all those dew seeds I sprinkled on last month.
April 27: down to -3C tonight! Do I take the pots in tonight?
