I am totally new to the world of CPs but have wanted to make a mini planter with a CP for some time now...my problem...I cannot find a descent nursery/greenhouse in the Ottawa area that stocks CPs. I've been to Ritchies and they have nothing! Help!
Also I've been to Mer Bleue in the area and was not able to spot any sundews or pitchers on my walk...is that because they are already hibernating or that I do not have a discerning enough eye?
All help is much appreciated!

Look in the trades section, there are lots of offers. This is the place to get most CP's.

Mmmm, you'll get more success looking for sarracenia in spring and summer when the flower stalk is high. At this time it can be more challenging if the popullation is not dense. Like Lloyd suggest, look at the trade section, you'll get much more species choice and so, you'll not disturb mother nature .

Hawaiian Botanicals and Keehns Carnivores are both in BC but ship plants all over Canada. Both have very friendly owners.

Thanks for the suggestions. Ordering plants either through Trades or through online retailers looks to be the only way to get some CPs, at least this season

Hey,
I'm in Ottawa and I can give you a couple of starter 'dews if you'd like.
I have also been to the Mer Bleue and could not find any purps, but there were tons of D. rotunidifolia.
Welcome to the forum!

Sundews are very hard to spot until you've actually seen them in the wild. Once you've seen them though, you realize just how common they are. If you're up for trying from seed, I have a ton that I collected in the last few weeks from my dews. I know one species is very viable, as I have a bunch of seedlings in a pot that I just sprinkled a few seeds into last week.
