I was there Friday as well... What Jay said. One booth with a few straggly carnivores and nothing you don't see at Home Depot.
Every time I go it seems less rewarding, and I like gardening in general, not just carnivores. Not enough green stuff, not enough variety in green stuff, too much artisan alley, display gardens weren't all that spectacular either (taking into account things look ratty by the last weekend.) Not really worth 18 bucks admission.
Hard to believe some of the exhibitors could sell enough of what they're selling to pay for the booth... $1700+

If I wasn't volunteering at a booth (and thus was able to get free admission) I would have thought twice about going - seems like this year paled in comparison to last year and the year before. Vendors weren't that great ... alot of tulips and hyacinths. I did enjoy talking to the people at the green roof project booth though. Then again - it is a great place to publicize a group. We handed out loads of pamphlets for our orchid society and even if 10% of those people decide to come to our next meeting, that's still pretty good! Who knows - if we ever get bigger here, we could consider it as a good place to publicize

It is the hope to have a booth at some kind of show like this once the membership grows, but for right now, the cost is just way too prohibitive! Thanks Sib

I went yesterday and picked up a common flytrap (mislabelled Akai Ryu) and also a N. sanguinea. Caused my wife's eyes to roll but I was happy. Compared to past years, it's been scaled down. Less plant vendors, more accessories.
My daughter loved the little playground where she also painted her own pot and planted her first plant!
