Very cool little plants dvg! What temperature do you aim to keep them at while dormant?

They look like they could be chopped up and spread on top of a pizza of something. . .
I find it very interesting how they flower before putting out carnivorous leaves. I don't know if you or someone else mentioned this, but does it flower before making carnivorous leaves to make sure their pollinators survive?
I also like your top dressing. It looks very natural.

Thanks guys. I find it very interesting how they flower before putting out carnivorous leaves. I don't know if you or someone else mentioned this, but does it flower before making carnivorous leaves to make sure their pollinators survive? I believe these plants have long-tongued pollinators such as butterflies, moths or hummingbirds. I'm not sure if the flowers come up first to prevent the pollinators from being captured or if the plant is using its energy on seed production primarily, maybe to ensure survival in case of drought conditions. One way to be sure would be to ask the plant. Nice macros there Doug. Looks like an alien poking its head from a spaceship ;D After watching both Ridley Scotts's Prometheus and the original Alien a couple of times each, i can definitely relate to the alien poking its head out there Rob. ;D dvg

This bulb is content to just shoot a single flower skyward, while this one, maybe more ambitious, has not only fired its first flower up, but has another in the chamber, locked and loaded. dvg

Great photos dvg! Im excited to see it open Thanks Drew! This go-round, i'm going to give my utmost at successfully pollinating these flowers. I really want to try my hand at some seed grown P. heterophylla. And given that i have actually successfully pollinated some Ping flowers and grown out the resulting seed, i have a bit more confidence with the pollinating aspects of this genera. dvg

It's crazy, so small and sending flowers. Really nice.
What will you use for pollination ? I tried a small copper electric wire with a loop on one end not long ago. I was able to catch some pollen with the loop but the pollination didn't seems to have work.

For pollination, i will use a whittled down toothpick, so that it has a very fine flat edge. Using a magnifying headset and a bright light, i should be able to see what i'm doing in the small ping flowers. dvg

beautiful flower, Dvg. I love how the edges are darker. What are all of the hairs for? It really makes the flower stand out compared to others.
