I got my Heliamphora nutans from Cook's Carnivores in November 2009. Here's what it looked like shortly after I got it: I fertilized it recklessly every two weeks since December 2009 or so. It has grown amazingly well. I decided to finally uproot it today, divide it and repot it. Here are some photos of the job. Before dividing: Divisions (many of which are about the size of the plant when I got it!): The two largest divisions repotted: More divisions repotted: All together now: Back in the terrarium with their friends:

Thanks Vince!
I use Maxsea fertilizer. Initially I was using it at 3/4 strength and drenching the soil with that every two weeks. After being scared of burning the roots (though I so no ill effects) I decided to cut it to 1/2 strength every two weeks.

I'm not sure where to get it in Canada, but you can get it from California Carnivores in the US. They might ship it to Canada since it's not a plant.

Nice divisions Matt cooks carnivorous stole 140$ from me ! i do not recommand this guy I'd like to hear more about your experience with Dean Cook, labine. I too have had mostly bad experiences with plants from him. Unfortunately at the time I got this plant, he was the only one selling Heliamphora nutans, but this plant actually did well for me. I'd placed a few orders with him before and while some of it can probably be chalked up to my inexperience and improper care techniques (though not all of it), I've had over 50% mortality with plants from him. I'd too recommend that people stay away from ordering from Dean, but I try not to be too vocal out it because I don't want to sway anyone too much. I think that everyone should make up their own mind based on their own experiences, but if someone asks, I'll give them my honest opinion.

I'll also pipe in with my own negative experience with Cook about 10 years ago - I sent him about $200 worth of plants as part of a trade and he never lived up to his end of the bargain. I sent him a few letters but no response. I would suggest to anyone to steer clear. Give your business to a reputable seller like Best Carnivorous Plants.

and ill throw in another negative about cook i did a large order for a large quantity of darlingtonia and several several sarracenia when they arrived, the darlingtonia, all of which had no roots, died before spring (darlingtonia has never died on me, so wth, why suddenly so many dead?) several of the sarracenia had little to no roots, and many were rotted, and those that werent rotted, only a few survived, again ive never had problems with sarracenia like this, so again why all of a sudden did so many die? and those that did die, were the ones from cooks...coincidence or not? i think not.

Wow, I'm happy to hear that I'm not alone in the world of having a few bad experiences with Cook's. I've not heard much else about his plants from other people and only one other negative experience, so I thought I was alone in my disappointment with his plants. I see that I'm not
