Yesterday, another freak rainstorm hit, it was LITERALLY pouring buckets... onto my bog, of course.
Every single one of my S. oreophila pitchers, which were JUST about to open as well, are crushed into many pieces... it's really too bad, since they were the biggest ones already (50 cm +)
I've moved all of my plants out of the bog, until I find a better location for them that gets lots of sun and not as much rain, and now they're in containers...
Once again, I have to admit I'm really pleased w/ my S. purpurea plants. None are harmed, they're tall enough so they don't get covered in peat like the S. psittacina and Xcourtii, yet short enough so their pitchers aren't even harmed. They were made for Canada!

bonfield: I've decided to finally reveal my best-kept secret for growing healthy Neps: Just spit on them every few days, the enzymes in saliva help them to better absorb the fertilizer I spray them with!

chrisrichard: SCAM ALERT--Don't buy from Pearl River Exotics in Georgia. What they advertise on their website IS NOT WHAT U GET!!! I've learned from my horrible experience+am sharing with everyone, so you don't get ensnared in the same trap of false advertising by them.
