Ceph One was looking fine...then turned largely brown (no photo) Cut off all the dead bits...then decided to cut it down to ground level...this on September 5, 2009. Let it grow back....photo of 23OCT09. And the chopped off green bits (there were 12) ......what became of them? (photo taken 23OCT09) Close up of one of bits....the centre one

Crazy, my mound of cephalotus is looking like your first photo (except no dying parts).
I would be intensely happy if it had as many growth points as yours!
thats probably the only time I could see a dieback being good, only when it surprises you with 10+ more growth points!

They should have Sherkas, mine is doing the same thing and I accidentally pulled one of the growth points. I was talking to dvg and told me to just stick it to moist sphagnum. You won't believe how fast this plants root.

Just curious Hackerberry, but how long did it take for your Ceph to root, once you stuck it in the sphagnum?

Really.. I know mine has been producing small pitchers (ive sure it has atleast one growth recently) but its mainly big pitchers still. Ive had it for .... 3/4 to almost 1 year in the same pot/growing conditions. Its just jammed packed and low maintenance i would hate to dig into it or change anything for it. I always did want a small ceph though, but I dont really have room for one atm, otherwise I think I would check it out and see if it has multiple growth points.

DVG- Hackerberry probably watched it do nothing for about 10 minutes before grabbing his magic spray and blasting it, making the cutting root, grow to maturity and flower before his very eyes in some sort of time-lapse sequence Nice recovery curlingguy !!

Hi dvg, around 3 weeks when I checked and there was an extensive root system formed.

Wow, that's impressive Hackerberry. Nice work there! Mabs, you're probably not too far off from the truth there. Dr. Hacker is definitely on the cutting edge of accelerated CP growth techniques. Last I heard he had his CP's on speed dial to answer and obey his every beck and call. ;D
