I just wanted to post a quick note to gush about the plants i got from Hawaiian Botanicals... I'm sitting at work with the box on my desk and I've got 2 hours to go before i can go play botanist; it's killing me. I was thoroughly impressed with their professionalism as an online retailer. I piggy-backed on their Borneo Exotics order and... oh boy! My pride and joy of the order: a Large N. Ampullaria 'Cantley's Red'... or maybe the Veitchii... or even the argentii... Ahhhh! Yay plants! ;D

Congrats Dustin, I felt the same way yesterday. Got the plants and they gave me some bonus stuff. A bag of Live Moss and a Ventrata cutting! They are just awesome!

Does anyone know what the OCPS membership discount is from Hawaiian Botanicals?? (I think it's 10%, but I'm not 100% sure....) Also, would this discount apply to plants that are already on sale, even if your purchase total is over $25??

Hey Carnivoure12,
Thanks for the quick response!! LOL, yeah, planning on getting some plants from them while I'm visiting this side of the country....
Is there an actual thread on this forum between Jack and OCPS showing this agreement?
When I visited there the other day, I was told otherwise, so it would be great to get this clarified!!
Thanks for all they help guys!!

Whenever you you order something, or buy, just tell them you are a OCPS member, and your username, if the validate your username ELLSIE, you're set.

Hey guys,
I just received an email from Jack to clarify this discount question.
Although HB does offer a 10% discount to OCPS members, this only applies to group orders (such as the recent one from BE that arrived in April, not to mention the quantity discount of another 10%) and on regularly priced plants from the commercial greenhouse.
Since the N. bicals are on sale, the 10% discount doesn't apply here in this case.

Either way, it's a fine thing that they are SO good about helping spread new plants around up here in Canada- any discounts are just icing on an already sweet cake Thanks for posting the clarification LC!!

I just got an order in today from Jack and Jeanie, and I must say I was impressed. -N. Black Truncata Queen of spades X King of diamonds. What a cute baby! -D. multifida 'extrema' It is HUGE! -U. Livida -U. flacida and a sarr of unknown parantage (looks like a Judith Hindle X leucophylla) That is one more Utricularia than I ordered and a bonus sarracena! Exciting!

Hey that is exciting Canadaone! ;D I got my black truncatas as well as a few other very nice looking specimens...but I've come to expect that high level of customer service and satisfaction from Jack and Jeanie at Hawaiian Botanicals. You can call me spoiled I guess.
