@ Hal, I don't treat my mexipings too differently year round. I find that they go in and out of dormancy on their own. If I keep them dry for a while they will be more inclined to take a rest. If I water them on schedule and keep them moist, they will be more inclined to grow, but a few will still enter dormancy if they wish to. Also if you decide to keep them constantly wet and have peat in your mix, you can expect more problems.
@ Jonnybee7, thanks. That white color, if rendered properly, is actually a very light green color. Those pictures were shot under fluorescent tubes with a 6500k color spectrum. Now, when the weather permits it, I prefer to photoshoot my plants outdoors in full sunshine. I find that gives me the truest color rendering.

dvg,
I'm taking it you don't keep your pings in trays? How about the babies from pullings? What sort of watering schedule are they on?
I keep the babies in a tray until they grow up. For the adult plants I'm experimenting with the tray system, or just watering them every few days. I'm finding that if I keep the adult plants in trays with water all the time, they don't do so well. The leaves will get translucent and slimy and the whole plant dies back.

hal,
I keep my pings in dishes and trays and I let the water evaporate and don't refill the dishes for at least a few days after they are dry.
As for the small plantlets from the leaf pulls, I try and keep those constantly moist until they get to a reasonable size that they can handle drier conditions safely.
