I have 2 types of medium that I use. One is Aron J Hicks N1 for nepenthes .. which is also great for Orchids and Bromeliads. The other is called "CAPE SUNDEW/ VENUS FLYTRAP MULTIPLICATION BASAL MEDIUM" Both are mixed by Pytotech. I have not used the cape sundew venus multiplication medium yet... it needs ajar and sucrose and ph balancing while the N1 is an all in one with what could be PH buffers.... always reads 6.5 after mixing it up with distilled water. Which one of these would work best with Cephalotus seeds? Here are the links N1 members.cox.net/osp/osp/media/media.htmlThe other one LOL www.phytotechlab.com/detail.aspx?ID=183Thanks Leny

I've actually had success:
For 100 cc, 25 cc in 4 bottles
3 gm. Sucrose 10 mg casein ( I have tons if anybody wants-it smells bad and is sticky) 1/2 MS (4.33g divide by 10 divide by 2 = 216 mg.) full strength MS vites (for 100cc you have to figure it out) make up to 100 cc with distilled water pH with baking soda & vinegar ~ 5.9 700 mg agar
25 cc in each of 4 bottles.

Sorry, I'm like my grandmother, leaving ingredients out of recipes! It's just that sugar is so basic to all the recipes that I forgot it. I amended the above post. There is no sugar in MS.

...wow, this is an old thread! I just got a bunch of tissue culture Cephalotuses. I've read these can be problematic so I am prepared for great failure but is there anything I should know about making the transition from the flask to regular media to help improve my chances? I know that rinsing is very important. Any input would be greatly appreciated as I know less than nothing about tissue culture. Thanks, Gabriel.

Great I'm very busy at the moment. I'm aware you ask for some pics on my own ceph post, I'll try to put some before the end of March. If you have the time, some pics of your flasks would be cool.
