Canada Post says they don't know anything more than what's on their webpage. They were reminded of the cost of the live plants they have somewhere in limbo. The local post office will be calling me as soon as they arrive instead of the normal day or two later policy. Good thing the temps arn't that bad a night anymore!

I've asked CZ about insurance on the shipment and for him to start a trace or whatever he needs on his end to find them. Canada Post says the sender has to start the trace for it to work. I'll keep everyone up to date on what I know.
