Thanks guys. Down the road I'll prob have to change the wood ford some type of metal reflector or something. I'd still like to have some way of reflecting all the light to the plants. Tweeking, always tweeking

About the capacitor question, imagine a 'D' or 'C' cell battery, that shape but the pos and neg posts come out one end only. it can vary between the size of an eraser in a bic pencil, to about a 'D' sized cell battery (in electronics applications), they get real big in industiral applications. take apart a tv or radio or PC, you`ll see em everywhere inside. usually blue yellow or black.

Ok, after pricing all those CFLs and sockets up, I decided I'd spend $15 and see if I could re-place the bulbs in the all in one 24" T12 tubes they sell. IT WORKED!! Talk about stoaked. Here's what I did and what I'm talking about. This is the light I've been talking about The ends have two tabs on them, one is heat sealed so I broke it off The end with the plug looks like this once the cap is taken off The tube is actually glued to the back, so I had to seperate them Then I took the other end cap off Then replaced the tube with a 24" sunstick Then I plugged her in and I've done nothing to permanetly re-connect the ends to the tube figuring it'll end up being changed anyways. ;D I'm happy!! I really like this! any Mods wanna make this into a sticky somewhere?

Tin Foil around the outside works quite well if you can stand not having a 360degree view of your plants *EQL* Thanks guys. Thanks Mark!
I've done a couple upgrades since. I took out the heater out, the temps were getting to high for highlanders. I also added a small fan on a timer for night time up against one wall and cut slits into the plastic so it blows air out at night and sucks up colder air from the bottom. On the bottom shelf, I added 2 trays of water with humidifier filters sticking out of them to up the humidity. I found my rajah, mikei and heli's liked this as it dropped the temps good. My truncata and gymnaphora on the other hand didn't, I moved them to the open and we'll see how they like that, so far no problems.
Still on my want to do list is get reflector's for the lights. I've put up those emergency blankets on the wall behind it to reflect that light.

Someone was asking on the ICPS about this setup and I came to look on here to if it was updated, nope So, here's what I've done since my last post. As of January 2010 Primative attempt with the fogger A tank on the shelf under the primative fogger, made out of old window panes The next generation fogger, in the tank with water in the bottom The fogger tank now The shelf right above the fogger tank, it gets cooler and higher humidity when my night setup is running (Fan/fogger) Top shelf as of the end April 2010 (no longer looks like this now) I put wires across the top for the maxima uppers to wrap around Next step, some type of reflecter. It's gotta be cheap so I can afford to go to Hawaiian Botanicals this summer, so maybe 4" round vent ducting cut in half for each bulb. If anyone has any other idea, let me know!
