I was just thinking today that you needed to post some pictures of your plants and so I came to your growlist and WAM ... all these lovely pictures. Nice plants man! You also have a ton to boot which are really nice. I think your drosera MIGHT be a rotundifolia or a spatulata. It looks like a rotund to me though.

Hey! I just got a couple new plants from a buddy who did an order with Wistuba. *drool*
Nepenthes Macrophylla (2 different clones), N. Muluensis, N. Ampullaria 'Hot Lips' (not from Wistuba), Heliamphora Pulchella, Utricularia Humboldtii, and Utricularia Nelumbifolia.
Has anyone received Utricularia from Wistuba before? Do they normally arrive with dead leaves? Or am I screwed?
I'll post pics as soon as i get a chance.
*GLEE*

With utrics it's the stuff under the surface that matters (water or soil). If the "roots" are firm and sort of whitish especially with live looking traps, you are Ok. For humboldtii use a dish-just put a layer of LFS underneath, mix the "roots" with the middle layer and put a top layer on. At most you will need 2-3". Let the water level vary from a bit under the surface to just at the surface. Lots of light and nice and warm. For nelumbilfolia get a perforated or slotted pot ~ 2-3", and do the same as above. Let the pot sit in a little dish with the water about an inch deep.

How big was the muluensis you received. I found the muluensis, X TM, and villosa, not to mention some lowii locality variants, to be quite tiny from him.

Thanks for the tips Lloyd > I see white roots one one, not pitchers though... :S We'll see how things go. Do you think it's ok if i go down to one of the ponds around my place and collect some water to start growing food for them? Do I have to worry about pests? dvg > the muluensis is actually quite large. each leaf is about 2 inches? Bigger than most of the other plants i've got from him in the past, that's for sure. The Macrophyllas are tiny, but not as small as the villosa I got from him last year. The villosa was about the size of a dime... and still is lol; the pitchers were/are so small i can barely get a needle head inside them to feed. The Macrophylla are bout the diameter of a quarter, maybe a loonie? They're big enough i'll be able to feed with a syringe though so i'm ok with that. To be honest, i'd rather have tiny plants than no plants XD Oh yeah > for the calgarians, Greengate has HUGE Nepenthes Maximas. The leaves are about 1.5' long without the tindrill. Each pitcher is 6-9".
