Thanks Lloyd! That's pretty much what I was anticipating doing. I didn't mention the sterilization part of things, but I was making that assumption. I am just concerned with damaging the little guys.

Hi Matt,
The seedlings are about 2 months old from the germination date. Mine are also tiny and decided to replate after a month. You should see the big difference after you replate in fresh media. For your replating question, I did what lloyd mentioned. The secret is constant spraying of alcohol all over your glove box. With the media, I don't even check the ph, hehe. It should be acidic enough when you add PPM in the mixture. Can't wait to replate next month using the MS Multiplication medium that I got from phytotech. Goodluck on your TC and post some pics!

hb,
What is the multiplication media from phytotech? Can you post a link?
Also, are you going to replate the seedlings on the multiplication media? If so, what is the desired result? Will each of the seedlings multiply to numerous plants?

One more: Are you using 1/2 MS currently for the seedlings?

Hi ftc, I am using 1/2 MS. I added MS Vitamins 1/100 in the replate and i just boost the size of the plantlets. Here is the link to the muiltiplication medium that I'm going to use on the next replate. www.phytotechlab.com/detail.aspx?ID=424It contains BA and NAA which will encourage shoot prolifiration. I was thinking of trying the Venus Flytrap and Sundew multiplication medium but it seems to have the same components as MS but without any auxins. hb

there are lots of vft variations. Big traps, pure red vfts, etc. We will see again in a month hehe. What clones are the vft from czplants? hb The seeds are from clone L05, from Best Carnivorous Plants. I thought it was from CZ, but I was mistaken. L05 is one of the clones sold in the 'Giant and Robust' selections for vft's. If you go to BCP's photo file for their vft's they probably have a pic for it. But as you have seen, you have an excellent selection of surprises in the sprouted seedlings.

Wow, awesome dvg. CZPlants has this clone with a picture.
Dimorphic rosette. nice light orange colour of traps. long teeth on traps. summer erect leafs. bigger size
No wonder some of my seedlings are already forming 3-4 clumps and showing some huge traps for their size. Can't wait to replate them in the multiplication and rooting medium. Thanks again dvg for the seeds and info!

Lloyd sent me some starter tc material. Everytime I am able to see your success' I move closer and closer to finally trying this out for the first time. Very impressive results for your very short career in tc thus far. Keep up the good work!

Be cautious on the hormones, they seem to be associated with phenolic oxidation in my Newbie hands.

The VFT's look good.
I checked mine yesterday-the bottles with the seeds without seedcoats did not have any contamination while the other two with seed coats both became badly contaminated. I replated the ones from the contaminated bottles and they are free of contamination-all but the ones within the mould-those ones I put in sphagnum and they are growing fine,if slowly.
So to avoid contamination with VFT seeds-remove the seedcoats. You heard it here first.

Nice lloyd, can't wait for the Epi. I want to mix it with my hormones for my next replate.
