Has anyone got the new ICPS newsletter? With it, they are advertising Stewart McPherson's new books - Lost Worlds and Glistening Carnivores. www.redfernnaturalhistory.com/ is the website. These books are now available! Shipping is a bit steep, though. Also, the ICPS is advertising a new book on VFT's - Miraculum Naturae Venus's Flytrap by Tim S. Bailey. www.thevenusflytrapbook.com/ Looks interesting.

go to redfern natural history products Yeah. That's the link I gave in the first post. Which book did you get? I have 'Pitcher Plants of the Americas', but only found out with the add I mentioned, that the next two are now available. I tried earlier in the year, but they hadn't even been published yet! So, if anyone does have them, let us know how they are. I'm sure they are fabulolus.

Hey folks! We recently received an email from Stewart on the subject of distribution. If there is enough interest I may be able to offer the books right here in Canada ;D Dear Keehns Carnivorous Plants My name is Stewart McPherson. I recently published two new books relating to carnivorous plants and am writing to you to ask whether you might be interested in working together to distribute these titles to carnivorous plant enthusiasts. The first new title is Glistening Carnivores which examines the ecology and diversity of all seven genera of sticky-leaved insect-eating plants in unique detail. Complimented by more than 279 spectacular images, this 392 page work examines all seven genera of sticky-leaved insect eating plants (Byblis, Drosera, Drosophyllum, Ibicella, Pinguicula, Roridula and Triphyophyllum) and documents their wild ecology and natural diversity in full detail and in many cases, for the very first time. Please see www.redfernnaturalhistory.com/books/name/glistening_carnivores_-_the_sticky-leaved_insect-eating_plants_-_hardback for more details. The second new title is Lost Worlds of the Guiana Highlands. This book examines the history of the discovery and exploration of the mysterious tablelands of the Guiana Highlands, South America. This title also examines in detail the diversity of wildlife and landscapes atop of these great tablelands, including a wide range of carnivorous plants, orchids and various animals. Specifically, this book documents various species of Brocchinia, Catopsis, Drosera, Genlisea, Heliamphora and Utricularia. This 388 page long work includes 248 spectacular images of these beautiful mountains and their remarkable wildlife and contains contributions from Sir David Attenborough and Karen Angel. Please see www.redfernnaturalhistory.com/books/name/lost_worlds_of_the_guiana_highlands_-_hardback for more details. A more complete overview of these new books and over one hundred sample images feature in these titles can be viewed online at www.redfernnaturalhistory.com . If you like the look of these new books and would like to discuss distributing these titles to carnivorous plant enthusiasts, please email me directly. Thank you for your time Yours sincerely Stewart McPherson www.redfernnaturalhistory.com

Rick Hillier lent me Macphersons first book to read on the busride home last summer, he really knows how to make a beautiful product, I was sad to return it when the time came lol
I would be shocked if any of his works were anything less than totally incredible, so buy with confidence, you will NOT regret it

Vraev's mention of Lost Worlds reminds me that I have to get off of my butt and order that video that they offer. There was a preview of it included with the Pitcher Plant title that I got a while ago. The footage was awesome.

Really? Which one? I didn't realize they were available. When did you find out? Hi kd, I got both books in mid June, and had preordered them in February. I would highly recommend both both books. I had posted something about them under the heading All Other Carnivorous Plants within the thread, New Carnivorous Plant?...Ledothamnus decumbens. Here's the link: ocps.proboards78.com/index.cgi?board=aocp&action=display&thread=1122

Thanks. I guess I missed that post. So, how much did it end up costing you? They are 29.99 plus 11.99 shipping for each book, all in British pounds. How did that convert?
Keehno - I really want these books, and to have them available in Canada would be great! However, considering what it costs to get them from England, they probably won't be cheap here. Do you have any idea what you might charge?
