Very nice Varun! Your plants are all colored up very nicely; are you growing these under lights, or outdoors? Your Darlingtonia, especially has some great color going on there. I am curious about your vft 'red line'; do you have a close up of it handy? Is the red line on the outside of the trap, just below the guard hairs of the trap? Overall, some very healthy, colorful plants there Varun, and good work on those clear, crisp pics as well.

Red line: Vinc was guessing that this typical might be redline. If you guys have got typicals from Keehns. It might be you already have this plant. These plants are growing indoors BTW. thanks! the darlingtonia is a gift from a good pal from here: Flytrap. {although its been a while since I have seen him around. }

Super-duper-ultra-terrific, Varun! Great plants, great shots... I've never in my life seen a darlingtonia that's purple before. Could it be from a parallel universe, a purpleverse, if you will? Do you feed it beets? Grape juice? Does it have really high blood pressure? Is it angry? Embarrassed? So intriguing! ;D

Thanks Glenn! lol! you are too kind. lol! The darlingtonia is nothing special. As the pitchers get older..iit starts to get deep purple color on the hood. However, do mind that this one doesn't go FULL red. Its just teh hood and sometimes the tongue.

VRAEV: Did you put your VFT through dormancy this past winter, and if so, what method did you use? Your plants look fantastic, BTW.

markym4rk, the moss is regular sheet moss that comes up on its own in the pots. The bad part is once it starts....its not going away. I tell ya...I used to want moss like this in my pots...but now I hate it. It binds the top layer as amat and becomes soooooo tight and doesnt even let water enter the media. It can truly choke out the plants.
Rick, these plants haven't been through dormancy. Yet, I did put the adult plants through dormancy which came through perfectly. I made a thread in the VFT forum with pics of the bulbs (IIRC). I put the plants with pots in my basement cold room where its almost like 4C or a bit lower.

thanks man! Yeah! These are cuttings of those adult VFT's that I traded away. I will be keeping these as I love to get this pot FULL of traps. lol! Good luck with your leaf cutting. Has it rooted yet? is it growing? Cephs are slow man.....its more than an yr since I got this plant as a couple of leaves + one pitcher. But once you get it going...it goes on autopilot [quoting my sensei] .

Good! Remember....ceph leaf cuttings are HIGHLY VARIABLE. The earliest strike was within a month & The longest one was nearly 3 months. As long as the leaf doesn't shrivel and dry up, you still have a shot. Good luck buddy. DO not pull it out though. Leave it alone. Just remember...DO NOT PULL it Out. lol! the most I used to do...us slowly use a toothpick to dig near the white corm part and see if there is growth after like 2 months. Try it mate. Don't worry..I have u covered if it doesn't strike. Its small...but atleast its growing.

Varun, I have to ask you what kind of light you are growing your vft's under. They look awesome, and have spendid color, yet you say they are 18" away from your light. Are you using a metal halide HID? If so what wattage? If you are using florescents, what type and again what wattage. Your plants look great!
