But, you can't obviously see anyone growing a freaking rajah in their backyard . lol! I am serious...you notice me with all this concern only for the rajah. I know my other cp's have acclaimatised enough to do their own thing. 2/5 neps are making the best of the conditions. the ceph looks pretty good inspite of no growth yet from the tip. THe VFT's lol...I forgot about them...they are doing great enough...that I just go and look quietly at them and see how nicely they do. The rajah...I just noticed has grown its tip 1 inch in the past 2 weeks. DO you believe that??/ 1 inch..lol! its not even completely out of the leaf...just one inch of sneaking in 2 weeks. THats why I am concerned. Is this 1 inch growth saying ... "I freaking hate this dude for throwing me in this dump conditions?"... or "Is it "OK" here and is just starting to grow and this is its natural speed". See my dilemma?? lol! I know this is how i was with the VFT's as well. lol!...this is called CP graduation.

Well...... its growing!!!! I have had plants that haven't grown an inch in a month. If I were u I would let the plant do its thing. Don't put too much thought or money into it. Its the second guessing yourself that may lead to a mistake that could cost u! If the plant is growing then it must be happy. Once you get it bigger and you want to improve on conditions, I suggest doing it slowly and see how it reacts. Too much do this do that in a hurry may be bad but it may also work. All I did was put a 3 inch fan from Canadian Tire (air works) in my greenhouse to move the air. It draws air from the open bottom and I suppose exhasts it there too.

ARE U serious?? a 3 inch fan from crappy tire?? lol! please show me a pic! a link or whatever. I really am not comfortable cutting up a CPU fan for use. I would love it if there is already a small fan with a power cord ready to use. thanks. You do have a point though. I guess I need to just wait and see. Maybe you guys all can judge based on the pics I will get on wednesday. cheers, varun

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET! I will check it out next week. WOW! BUT, once again....isn't it too fast for the plants though..they want a gentle breeze not a typhoon.

I don't know if this is close to what sdeering was talking about, but I once had a setup where I have a large plastic tube that was extremely flexible and large in diameter which I taped onto a fan. I then hung the other end of the tube into my terrarium. In the middle, I cut a small hole, and inserted the output of an ultrasonic humidifer into the hole, then taped it shut. I connected the ultrasonic humidifier to a timer. It worked extremely well, and each time the humidifier turned on my terrarium would fog up like a cloud and drop a few degrees (the fan was really strong). If you put your hands in the output of the tubing, you actually feel kinda cold. It added strong air currents plus humidity for a pretty good evaporative cooling effect. I need to mention that my terrrarium was pretty covered except for a small air output hole. If you are to do this, you would need a terrarium to contain the water, or you'll have stuff growing on your walls. If it is a real concern, you can also buy a dehumidifier and put it somewhere in your room. I never had any problems with the mineral stuff that sdeering mentioned, the mist that comes out is pretty pure. The ultrasonic humidifier looked something like this: factorydirectstoreonline.com/images/7135.h1.jpgI bought mine at an asian mall, you can usually find them there. Edit: I remember something now, the fan I had wasn't really a fan, it was a wick humidifier but it had a strong fan in it. So the wick humidifier was on all the time blowing air into my terrarium, and the ultrasonic one was on a timer. I don't think the wick humidifier mattered at all since I never saw the humidity rise because of it, so a fan would replace it just fine. Edit 2: forgot to mention that the water was pure from the ultrasonic humidifier because the water I put into it was free of minerals

thanks for the idea. Actually its something what I had in mind for a while now. I have a cruder version of that high tec humidifier...but I am a strong believer of tough plants than plants grown in soft high humidity conditions. But well.... If I ever get to making that infamous terrarium of mine...this is something which I surely was going to do. However, a note about using tap water in those humidifiers: Its pretty bad. THe humidifier is showing a lot of damage..i.e., the mist output has decreased inspite of my occassional once a fortnight cleaning of the base area and teh transducer.
