Here is my problem.... I went to the local gardening center and i fell in love..... with this The problem is that it's way too big to fit in my terrarium. First of all, what kind nepenthes is this? and can it grow near my window. (lot of light but no direct sunshine). The humidity is not really high.... 35 to 55 % . thanx

That is a miranda my friend. Its the biggest nep available locally in canada. As u can see ...its a very very nice specimen. Actually mabudon here grows the same one in similar conditions. Most neps ..especially the easy ones like this one, can be grown on the window sill like that. Humidity is also fine...But, expect to loose a few of those pitchers. But in more months..it will adjust and make appropriate pitchers. Make sure that you water it with distilled or reverse osmosis or rain water only. Do not use tap water....water it till it drains from the hole at the bottom. Then wait for a few days before watering again. It will take 2 or more weeks...but keep watching the newest leaf growth....the spindly looking thing at the top of the plant...known as the growth point. Watch for its growth. When it resumes growing....that means your nep is adjusting to your conditions and starting its growth again. Good luck! its a good choice.

Hey! Like Vraev Said, Its a Miranda... Keep your lighting as high as possible, but no direct sun and the humidity as high as you can get it thew better... It might "pause" its growth but should resume quickly... They like to be watered overhead with water that has the lowest mineral content... Cya Btw! This is a Highland... Lower temps at night(15-21) and whatever in the day(20-35)

You can also grow your miranda outside as a hanging plant... just remember to not let it dry out.

Thats a Fairly good price for the size... I bought a nice alata for 25$ and its big(5 growth points, too feet tall, each point is about 10-12 inches in diameter) Start looking at growlists and PM people to see if they have pollen or a female plant to try to arange something if possible! Cya P.S. Befor PM'ing, No I have no flowers right now...

Hey! If you want Miranda seeds you'll need a mirnqda pollinisation... But the chances that someone as a miranda thats the oppisite sex in flower is slim so look for what you can get! Cya
