My young seedlings (first true leaves) of Nepenthes mix and Droseras are pale green - is it normal or should I do something about it? The only reference I had found on the web says about neccesity of feeding or may be too strong light. My seedlings are on vermiculite and 6 in. below two 18W daylight fluorescent tubes.

I've never grown anything on straight vermiculite, light sounds fine. Be careful with feeding as once fertilizers hit soil, algae will become a problem. Sib

I would not fertilize CP seedlings... There would be a high risk of killing them. Remember that their carnivory evolved from growing in mineral-poor soils. Unless you are an experienced CP grower, I would not play with fertilizers. Especially not on seedlings, it would be very easy to overdose them with nutrients.
