I've been growing about 2 years. I'm going about it the same way as with orchids - get some very general books on the subject, then advance to more specifics. I should probably get some more general info, but I do like the focus on one genera, or similar genera.

Hi guys, I finally made the move. I ordered one of the two books I have been eagerly awaiting for a loooooong time. Nepenthes of Borneo by charles clarke. Fingers crossed and hoping that it meets my expectations of excellence. Any thoughts? comments from present owners?? thanks, V

i have both savage garden and growing carnivorous plants, and by far 'savage garden' get my 2 thumbs up! like the others say, barry's book is more general knowledge, but peter really goes into more detail. there are a lot of other good books out there, just go to the local library to see what available in your city. i found a good number of books, and all were free (had i taken them back on time)

I have Savage Garden and Barry's book. I like the pics and "quick" general guidlines for them. Savage is more in-depth, but better for growing and growing from seed/leaf cuttings, etc... Never seen the like of any of the others mentioned

i got this book for 10$, so yes it worths the buy for a piece of anthology. haven't had much time to get throught it though, but there's a lot of infos i didnt read much elsewhere (perhaps a bit too technical for a coffee table book). I'll try to bring it back form my work and try to summarize it. I saw a lot of copy sellin cheap on amazon in the used section. If you can get it for 15$, its sure worth it
