I will be buying seeds from the net very soon. Can the seeds be damaged by the cold weather (-20°C)? I'll be having Drosera, Pings and Utrics.
I know that storing seeds at 5°C in the fridge doesnt damage them, only slows their metabolism to better preserve them.

I will be ordering from Rareexoticseeds (Montreal, Canada) & Triffid nursery (UK).
I also have been ordering tropical Drosera and such in winter. But I am wondering if warmer temps while in transit could improve the germination rate.

I've never had a problem with seeds or gemmae in the winter. However, has anyone had success with Rareexoticseeds yet?

Nope. He wrote this specifically on his web site. I wouldnt really bother either, maybe for live plants but not for seeds

Insectivore, that's not bad. Especially D. peltata; tuberous sundews are supposed to be really hard to grow from seeds. Maybe I should try them again.

I've had good luck with RES too, mostly nep seeds did well, but also the sundews did well, not much luck with the utric, or ping seeds, but those could be difficult. Sib

Insectivore, you have pretty good germination results. Did you use gibberelic acid (GA3) or a heat mat for D. peltata?
