Is that Byblis from seeds I gave ya Seriously, looking GOOD man, after all them years of searching, there it is!! Excellent work! And those are the fabled "Pings from Steve", I don't know WHAT the trick is but some folks that saw the one he sent down with Rick literally cursed when I showed it to them, the dude has some BIG Pings

That "dried stick", Varun, is sorta Steve's "holy grail", it's a Drosophyllum he grew from seed

why? Is it soo hard to grow?? I know its personal choice but....I don't really see anything fascinating about it...its just like a thinner capensis. I know that you probably will have different feelings though ! kinda like my obsession with dionaeas of which the dentate is finally colouring up suddenly (after the flowering whcih I cut off) ... sorry for the little ot thingy here !

Varun- Here's an idea- think about how many Drosophyllum pics you've seen here.. THEN maybe look at folks growlists, or even search the term- it is NOT a common thing- the seeds are tricky to germinate, the plant will DIE if the rots are disturbed IE you can't EVER transplant it, you can't make leaf, root, scape OR stem cuttings It is a perrennial that grows in odd kinda dry "soil" where it's from in the south of spain and portugal It is just a baby Steve has there, but once it gets bigger it will get a tough pine-tree like stem with many bunches of filiform leaves and could get to 3 feet tall with multiple branches and crowns All in all it is a REALLY cool plant (and it's good that he got one growing- up til now I had promised him that if I ever somehow ended up with one, it would go right to him- this will be true in the future if it ever needs replacing too) and since he's been trying to get one for YEARS (almost half of your lifespan so far if I remember right) he is babying it just a littlePersonally I'm surprised he took the pic for fear of the flash damaging the little guy
