Okay, as I began in another thread, the darn plant is unstoppable (as anyone who has ever recieved it can no doubt attest to)
but a Question.... is it in any way deleterious to other CPs?? I would think that Sarrs are pretty much "immune" to it, given the size and toughness of the root systems, but I'm not so sure about others... it actually looks pretty nice at the base of stemmy Drosera, and I've never seen it cause any direct troubles for anything, but I wonder if I should at least try to slow it down a bit?? I think it might actually be kinda good for most plants, keeping the soil more loose and aerated, but I just don't know, and since I am guessing that 90% of us here have no hope of actually eradicating it from our collections short of burning everything and starting over, I figured some discussion would be interesting at least.
Thoughts??

So far the U. subulata seems pretty benign. It hasn't bothered my pygmy drosera, cephalotus, or U. tricolor although it seems to be in for the long haul in these pots. I find that repotting while being careful to wash off the soil medium seems to keep it under fairly good control. Anyway from now on, I will not allow any subulata flowers except in my little quarantine container. Tonight I repotted my infested D. nitidella X pulchella and U. tricolor. Hopefully the U. subulata will at least be set back.

U. subulata shouldn't be bad for others CP. the only case it could be bad is when it colonize a pot of another smiliar leafed Utricularia. You can't then tell one apart of the others, and in the case the first one died, you'll trading/spreading U. subulata under a false name...
I got rid of mine (i wont say forever, we never know) by sorting little leaves and stolons one by one last year with a small pair of tweezer and quite a load of patience! But it worked. Personnally I dont have anything against this little fellow, but the one i had was giving me more cryptogamous flowers than anything else, i got bored in the end... but i did saw it elsehwhere in a profusion of yellow flowers in a VFT pot... it was quite a show!

The flowers are the reason I keep it. That and the fact that I like bladderworts.
