Honestly I don't think I'd be able to properly feed my Ceph bugs, I'd probably end up breaking the plant. Overally, the Betta pellets seem to have a lot of advantages over bugs- no extra liquid fats to encourage funky stuff like fungus (I've seen a bunch of adverse reactions to bugs in other plants, indoor ones that is, outside is a different story- I can't imagine ever having to feed any of my outdoor plants) plus like I said, they're small and you can easily "measure" how much the plants get- another plus is that if you get a betta and a can of food, I guarantee that the fish will be dead before you even put a dent in the food supply- my last betta (his name was Omicron, RIP little buddy) lived for a few years and I still have tons of food left over Plus, you don't have to worry about the pellets breeding should they escape the plants, and finaly you don't have to catch them That's just my take

lol! nice points there dude. lmao! good reply! but what brand of betta pellets, what exact bottle do u recommend? I would like to get one. And, can u feed that to pings and sundews? my vft's are too picky to eat this....lol! and get this.....the VFTs have a STICKY ring of nectar on the trap.....believe it or not...they are drooling.

lol sounds like you'd better get feeding them or they might revolt- don't get too close to them!! I DO crush them up and sprinkle them on Pings, they seem to like it, but watch out, I have had (harmless I would figure, but ugly) fungus develop on Pings IF the pieces are a bit too big and/or the plant isn't fully active.
Like I said, sundews like D.coccicaulis and even small-leafed ones like D.madagascariensis will totally eat them, both species will fold right over a pellet and devour it, I have done that on numerous occasions, not out of necessity, but more out of curiousity, and the results are prett impressive
I use... lemmee see these are called "Top Fin" Betta Bits. I do believe that Jay and others use something called "Betta BioGold" or some such thing
The only plants I have not tried this on are my Heli (I'm still paranoid about killing that damn plant, tho it is looking MUCH better after repotting) since it doesn't make too much in the way of enzymes and I fear I might rot it out and as you stated VFTs, since I don't think they'd need the help
Seedling Sarrs, Pings, Drosera, Cephs and Neps- all can obviously benefit from eating these little nuggets, and there's no mess or "gross out" factor involved either which is great for some folks
Sib even cuts the lids off of Sarr seedlings to make feeding easier

WHAT??? SYB....you cut out the lids on sarr seedlings? I can never do that. I feel a pain if I am even unpotting my plants....even handling the moss makes me afraid that I am damaging it. lol!! I am still waiting for all the VFT's to recover and get back to speed before getting them anything to eat. I am positive that traps will rot if I do it now. thanks for the brand names carl, I'll go check it out today. Finally something for the neps as well. .

I put ants and pellets in my heli's mature pitchers with no obvious bad effects.

Thanks Lloyd, I will give it a shot then- I usually only feed it houseflies when I catch one, but the pellets should help heem out good

Make me sound like a monster why don't you! vraev, grow some sarracenia from seed and let me know how easy you find them to feed hehe. As for food, I use tetrafin or something like that but I have a whole whack of fish food I use... I've been experimenting with fish food for years. general rules to remember, anything with dew does better with poderized stuff like crushed freeze dried blood worms, where as anything with a resivoire does better with a granual that will sink. sib

lol! I didn't mean that...but hey, I got a couple of sarr seedlings as well. Just a couple = 2. got ya! I'll try getting one of the brands mentioned here. But, when I used ot grow fish, like 7-8 yrs ago in india, the fish pellets normally float. Do u also get ones that sink?

yeah...I didn't want to waste by killing them. That was becos only 2 of the seeds from jay's mix had germinated after stratification. All the rotundofolia from titom had succombed to a fugal attack. I didn't want to waste more by doing improper stratification. However, I am happy atleast like 3 plants had germinated.
