I find that the take-out containers from Swiss Chalet make ideal mini terrariums for Drosera schizandra. I just put in some LFS and a bit of live moss and a few schizandra divisions, add enough water so there's a few mm in the bottom of the container, put the lid on tight and pretty much leave them alone. They only need water every few months!

That, is actually very cool! It does look like a salad! Although, it is not a salad that an insect would like...

Instead of dressing you could try drizzling some nep juice over it, after a couple weeks of breaking down fungus gnats it gets kinda thick and tangy.

I actually have a nice big bell jar I was thinking of trying this with. It does have a very nice effect.

Dollarama has fishbowl type canisters that seem made for this. $2.00 each.

Dollarama, or I was going to suggest some clam shell containers from bulb barn that have their lids attached.

Nice Schizz Ian,
What amazes me is their great green color and wide leaves.
Did you ever got problem with schiz ?
My schiz are a little yellower and the leaves much narrower and I don't know why. The mucilage is not red so I don't think it comes from too much light. Perhaps not enough ? RH is at 100% so do not seems problematic.
Did you raise these ones in your tank with your others ones or did you use another source of light ?
Tks

Wow, awesome hal. It's amazing how well they survive in such moisture!

The only problem I have with them is leaves dying back as the plant gets older, but I just cut them away. These plants are kept at the dim end of one of my shelves so they get the butt end of 4 x T8 fluorescents. The deepest green plants actually get the least light. I have 5 of these containers going and the ones closest to the light have paler, more spindly leaves. They really like it quite dim.
I never feed them other than a light dose of some half strength orchid fertilizer about twice a year.

Hi Hal - Beautiful! That's a fantastic cluster of plants. It seems to be a good way to grow them. What are the temperature extremes your plants experience?
Peatmoss - I was thinking of buying a dessicator for the same purpose. If you do plant schizzy in the bell jar, I'd love to see pictures.

Thanks Hal. Mine were definitely too cold! I'm pretty solidly convinced that cold is what killed my plant.
