This whole identity thing reminds me of a favourite Star Trek Next Generation episode where the indigenous people started worshipping "The Picard"
If I manage to get the relocated bog dug out this spring, I may try the pine mulch technique as well.

*A* I now totally understand the myth and awe!! That is the most awesome thing I have ever seen, please tell me you are retired and spend 24/7 on it and do nothing else! I am in total awe. I would love to have anything that remotely resembled that. I do understand your mulch now and see how perfectly it works. Question, this makes it through your winters okay? Do you have that much of a ground water back up or do you supplement it? Jay all I can say is I am in total awe, that is so beautiful!! Thanks so much for posting. I only have the barrel bogs so far, but may attempt an enclosed underground one this year due to a small pond that leaks. We just don't have the ground water to sustain a real one, but luckly I have alot of access to RO water.
Thanks again so much for posting Kelly

Actually J*Y's garden looks even better than the pictures suggest. Beyond the gorgeous plants, the actual garden is very artistic. Inside J*Y has a beautiful planted aquarium. It was so nice that I was immediately tempted to throw mine out. He definitely has the touch. If the OCPS was the Watchmen, then J*Y would be Doc Manhattan.

Right, them pics are why I was kinda vague earlier, words really don't do it justice. Can't wait to come check out the new additions in the next months Bro, as Lloyd said as awesome as them pics are, seeing it face-to-pitcher is actually literally mind-numbing.

Hi , question 1 I still have to work for another 25 years and am younger than mab's , and thank for the complement's Question 2 The bogs have no seepage , water either comes in the form of rain or run off i collect off the roof . They are about 2' ,deep lined with pond liner , with holes punched in to allow excess drainage . deeper the hole the more water it can store Question 3 All the plants in there are hardy in my zone of Ontario (banana belt of Canada ) 6a to 6b pushing 7 . All the sarr species do well , flytraps come back fine , dews too . Neps out side don't seem to like it that much.
The pine needles i get from white pine at work , White pine drop there needles in the fall .
