Very nice!
Are these all in a large terrarium? And if so, do you take the VFTs out for the winter? Also, where did you find the Heliamphora? I love those plants.

hal : Everything is in the same terrarium. Here's a picture : And for the vft i know it shouldn't be there but it is still looking fine. Those are grown from seed from last year, so i think it can grow another year without dormancy. The Heliamphora is a minor that i have received from a guy that used to be on the forum with us, Dom1234. He sold all of his indoor plant and now he is growing a nice outdoor peat bog. I have other small H. minor maybe in spring i could sent you one. tael: It is an adelae , but it is not that big, it's the vfts and h. minor that are small!! I've used a beer cap to show you.

Thanks, Simon. That's a beautiful setup - something to aspire to. I'll PM you in the spring and maybe we can do a trade for a bit of H. minor.

This is N. Bongso. (Very easy nep) There is a good example of how to get offshoot out of a nep. Bend the gowing tip down ( let's say below the roots level). Here's N. Bongso with N. spathulata ( Bongso 1 offshoot and spathulata 3)

fantastic plants simon. I still have my eye on that controller. You really have to give us a tutorial on how to set that thing up mate. is it like a controller for temp, humidity and light? Can u monitor it wirelessly? can u control misters etc? Amazing. I would sooo kill to have one with that functionality.

I'll try to prepare a post on my setup to explain it. But for a quick answer, in the top section there is the controller or PLC ( siemens s7-200 + different input module). This is hooked up to my computer ( DB9 plug) and i can change the programm in it or monitor value ( ex: temp, humidity). With a programm called logmein ( free) you can have acces to your computeur from anywhere, so i can monitor my setup. I don't do a lot with my setup but the possiblity are infinite ( i could control the temp , but for now i only read it, i could control the watering of every single plant ( i would need more output from my cpu and more pump))
There is only one thing that is fully automated and it is humidity.A good regulation loop must have 3 elements: First -something to monitor the humidity ( I bought from ebay an industrial type sensor, usualy used to monitor humidity in ventillation) Second- An intelligence ( My PLC) to compare the value read from the first element and a setpoint ( in my case the setpoint is set to 93 %) Third- Something to take action (In my case an ultrasonic mister bought of ebay) This way when humidity drops below 93% the ultrasonic mister start and it stops when it reach 93%
There is another regulation loop used to keep the right level of water for the humidity mister ( i've posted a picture of this somewhere...)
I would like to know if anybody uses pressure mister? I would be interrested in buying one or home made one... I wonder if an expresso machine pump would do?? Anyway, I'll try to do a full post about it.

thanks for the explanation Simon. If I had the skill with electronics...I would soooo be looking at a hooked up system right now. I am considering it seriously though. I might maybe try a little DIY project and get some components and experiment.
