Hehe thats been posted quite a few times!
First of all, rafflesiana is very varied there green ones, speckeled ones, black ones, red ones, brown ones, small ones, tall skinny ones,
You're average rafflesiana won't get that big, it has to be that specific variety of rafflesiana. i don't know when or how long, but they're fast growing neps, so i'd say not very long.

no photoshop here, i remember seeing that photo on the net back in the 1990's... and if i remember well, the fellow holding it is Rob Cantley from (now called) Borneo exotics. The plant was from the wild (and look at the curtains... we are few decades ago )
