Wait till the seeds are showing a bit and are dark and shiny looking. If you wait too long they can fall out.

When i was wondering if my vft seeds should be given a cold/wet stratification in the fridge (that's what i did last time), i ended up searching on the web and came across this same site. So, the seeds were sown without a dormancy and should be sprouting next week sometime with any luck. dvg

I sowed three pots of VFT seeds on August 12 and noticed on the 25th that a substanial proportion of the seeds were starting to germinate. Here's a shot from last night of one of the pots... ...so now i'm sold on the idea of sowing VFT seeds without first giving them a cold stratification period in the fridge. dvg

I agree DVG, if the seeds are fresh, they germinate super quickly, and with a high success rate! I think they are as easy to germinate as many Drosera are!
